A wonderful story deserves a fantastic beginning. In the summer of 2014, the success story of Campo Bahia began as the luxurious accommodation for Germany’s Football World Cup team. The German soccer team drew power and energy from these harmoniously designed surroundings for their rousing match and finally become the winner of the world cup in Brazil.
Location
The Campo Bahia Hotel is in the village of Santo André, 27 km north of Porto Seguro, in Bahia. There are miles of beaches and vast coconut tree plantations next to the sea that range from the mouth of the João de Tiba River to the mouth of the Santo Antonio River.
The transfer to the hotel runs along a scenic coastal road to the town of Santa Cruz Cabrália. From there, a 10 minute ferry ride across a river estuary will take you to Santo André. The unique experience of Campo Bahia begins before you arrive…
On the other side of the João de Tiba river, but a few meters from the hotel, is the municipality of Santa Cruz Cabrália, the main gateway to quaint Santo André, a fishing village of about 800 inhabitants. Out of this team spirit Campo Bahia has developed into a symbol of new luxury, recreation, relaxation and rejuvenation, all at a luxurious retreat, nestled on the peaceful Brazilian Atlantic coast, in the state of Bahia. The owners of this precious Hotel have taken great care to embed in nature a wonderful oasis of privacy and total comfort. The feeling is as if you were in a house by the sea, with absolute privacy. There are 15,000 square meters of area that combine the comfort of a luxury hotel with charm, comfort, and relaxation.
Designed by Espírito Santo architect Sandro Pretti, the hotel combines cutting-edge infrastructure features and the exuberance of the local nature. The Villas were built around an atrium, which is open and integrated with the other areas, such as a lounge, a restaurant, a kitchen, and a swimming pool.
All the wood used is certified and comes from the Pará Amazon. The trees removed to build the development were replaced. A 100-m deep artesian well was built to irrigate the entire area. Special attention was paid to the high-quality architecture and furniture by using local products made with natural raw materials.
From the beginning of the project, a great deal of emphasis was placed on making sure that Campo Bahia was built in a sustainable manner and in the style typical of the local community. This led to the development of a Hotel in a picturesque location where it is possible to experience responsible tourism and resource conservation first hand
The interior design concept of hotel owner Christiane Hirmer combines indigenous crafts with basic Brazilian design elements, creating a unique decor style. The resort’s open plan approach allows the beauty of the landscape to be conveyed from within as well, creating an energy and a spirit that can only be felt and experienced when you are there. The Campo Bahia art project prioritizes intense communication among the environments.
An artistic installation of the artists Claus Föttinger and Andreas Gursky, the Champions Bar, with special photos of the 100 years of the history of the World Cup, is a unique attraction in and of itself. 
Rooms
The hotel has only 14 Villas, totaling 61 suites: 24 suites spread in the 4 Ocara Villas, facing the sea; 5 suites in the Maloca Villa, overlooking the sea; 4 in the Balejo Villa, and 28 suites divided by the 7 Taba Villas. All suites offer king size beds, Trussardi bed and bath linen, air conditioning, a safe, telephones for long-distance and international calls, 32’ TV sets and L’Occitane amenities. Ground floor suites have open showers and large balconies. All Villas have unique decorations, 42” TV rooms, balconies, and coconut trees. Campo Bahia offers a bar, room service, pool and bar, massages, and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
