After several months of rebuilding following the hurricanes of 2017, The Christopher is back for a dynamic 2018/19 winter season. The island of St. Barthélemy has been especially proactive with renovations and enhancements throughout the island including an exciting fresh look for The Christopher, a St. Barth favorite which has taken its redo beyond the needed repairs to an extensive restoration and the introduction of three new villas.
Location
St. Barth is located in the French West Indies, easy to reach via Puerto Rico or St. Maarten. The Christopher is located above the rocky shoreline of the popular neighborhood of Pointe Milou, home to the magnetic Le Ti Saint Barth restaurant and some of the poshest villas on the island.
Perched above the brilliant blue waters that surround St Barths, the Hotel Christopher brings understated Parisian glamour to the ritzy Caribbean island.
The hotel draws energy from these neighbors but is also a quiet and relaxed refuge for those in-the-know on St. Barth. There is no beach at The Christopher but the stunning views beyond the oversized infinity pool are unforgettable compensations and a drive into St. Barth’s capital, Gustavia, is a must for the shops and historic sites.
Style
The owners, the Pitch Promotion Group, redesigned an existing hotel in 2006 by imagining a large house with pure and timeless architecture. The Christopher has thrived ever since. The hotel is entering a new era of luxury, but the sweeping views of the sea, stunning sunsets and lush island vegetation that add to The Christopher’s beauty have not changed.
Rooms
The 42 accommodations include 23 rooms and 19 suites. In 2019, three spacious villas will be added to the inventory. The pure lines of the rooms and suites, made with stone, wood, resin and gray marble, give them a special elegance and compatibility with the environment. Spread over two floors, most rooms extend under the shade of their own terrace. In some, the magic of disappearing windows shows off the landscape and sea views beyond. The simplicity of the Creole architecture, combined with a minimalist design and a subtle color palette, is compatible with the surroundings. The sounds of the rustling palms make comforting background music.
Service & facilities
Here you will not miss anything and from Swimming pool, spa, fitness centre with classes, DVD library, free WiFi throughout you got everything your heart desires. In rooms: flatscreen TV, iPod dock, DVD player, minibar (free upon arrival, refills charged), tea- and coffee-making facilities, bathrobes, Sisley bath products.
Dining at The Christopher starts perfectly with a drink in the sun or, later in the day, at the appropriately named Sunset Lounge. Island favorites are traditional Planteur or Ti Punch, the perfect prelude to the resort’s two restaurants which have been reimagined and renamed during the renovation:
The more formal Christo Lounge Restaurant where Chef Nicolas Tissier focuses on organic meats and vegetables.
Meanwhile, drinks and lunch are served in the more casual Mango Beach Club, the place to head for lunch of grilled fish with gorgeous views near the pool.
The Sisley Spa has five treatment rooms that open to the ocean below. It offers beauty treatments and massages and is launching a new lomilomi massage, mimicking the sounds and movements of the waves. The spa overlooks the water and large teak terrace with views of the bay. Outdoor daybeds face the sunset and are always in demand.
Function space
The Christopher is the perfect place for a buyout and will give you numerous venues for your prestige wedding, a anniversary event or even a corporate incentive. The dedicated team will deliver ideas and themes as well as breathtaking decoration and high end service.
